In the beginning there was a light,
I don’t pretend to remember it well,
But I know there was a light,
Because they told me there was.
A fusion of light, sound, taste, smell, and feeling,
Mixed with haywire, crosswire, and anxiety,
I knew from this moment, my existence is to flame.
But somehow I skip over the Now,
Somehow I convince myself that every beating of my heart is a beating on my soul.
Thump! Another step closer to something new.
Thump! Wishing away my life hoping for something bigger.
Thump! Never actually living in Now!
Thump! I don’t know what I must do.
Thump! I know I know I don’t want to.
Thump! Drop. Thump! Rain. Thump! Drop.
Thump! Wish. Thump! Into. Thump. The.
Thump. Rain. Thump. Barrel.
Pour down and clean my soul,
Make me one and make me whole,
Then bring him to me,
So he can see,
My heart is full of my own soul.
/end scene.
It’s all a game. It’s all an act.
Crisp and clean come and find me,
Save my soul from the beating that tortures within it.
Grab my hand and take me away.
Show me the inside I know lives close by.
With you I will be ok,
Without you I will not exist.
With you I’ll be a slave,
Without you I’ll be safe.
You see, you see, I don’t understand.
Someone take me away from this wonderland.
Topsy, turvey, upside down, round and round.
My head hurts, my heart is heavy.
Give me the train,
The train is steady.
This day my heart is sore,
I will keep searching and searching and searching…
Until I find you! Where are you?
